It's difficult for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The top summits have been successfully scaled.

This is the squad that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to another six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed over three years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, those for the record chasers, are what's still available for a squad that has accomplished all there is.

The fact it required as late as Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, reclaiming their record for the highest in the women's 50-over format, is, frankly, a testament to the bowlers that have represented Australia over the past 50 years.

It is hard for their batsmen to maintain a record if never given the possibility.

Finally, the outcome of Australia allowing 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy being given an opportunity to create her most recent brilliance.

Then best known as the 19-year-old niece of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after Australia failed to win either of the T20 or ODI World Cups conducted earlier and has seen it all through 15 trophy-laden years since.

A T20 World Cup win came three months after her first appearance and seven international trophies have resulted from 10 efforts across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India briefly halted the run of success.

That loss "pushed us to reevaluate our levels," Healy stated recently.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the title decider and was awarded tournament MVP. She made sure her country would not come up short.

If this recent magnificent innings topped that previous effort is debatable.

Some will argue the case for championship match pressure. Different voices suggest with the challenge that comes when confronting a historic chase and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's clear is this hundred was far harder to predict.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 happened while she topped the run-scoring charts, but this knock came after six matches in India since the start of last month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"For those following me in practice sessions, it has been a disappointing period because it seemed my form was missing whatsoever," stated Healy.

"However when you take the field, your fighting spirit activate and you completely engage with the competition."

Healy's fighting spirit has consistently been her great strength - and an irreplaceable characteristic in succeeding legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, fallen to the 22-year-old seamer in every game, but here that only provided Healy's inspiration.

A single came off Gaud's first delivery and from that point the right-hander was in motion.

"An opportunity to take the field and face the challenge with her and merely enjoy the moment that way, kind of motivated me," stated Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 balls - her fastest at the global tournament - and her ton in 84 balls as she punished short deliveries, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

When she was dismissed Australia required another 66 at run per delivery - a manageable total now needing a comfortable finish.

"Pursuing 330 is new territory so I am glad we have the confidence to achieve that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to repeat it but, should it happen, we are confident we can succeed."

Those words will be the last rival teams at this championship should hear.

In recent days a feeling they will win from any position has become more firm - this triumph coming after win against Pakistan by 107 runs despite being 76-7 at one point.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a match against traditional opponents England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a last-four spot may well be secure.

It was in the semi-finals they exited the previous year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a match Healy couldn't play because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the initial instance at a significant event.

Such is her determination, she later said she regretted not playing with the discomfort.

Yet even as she later admitted those physical issues have pushed back thoughts of retirement, this World Cup is expected to be her last as captain in one-day cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a world championship as captain.

Victory in India would take her to the summit of her final mountain.
