In a surprising collaboration that defies usual expectations, the game developer has announced an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.

According to the official announcement, "A mysterious confrontation leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where rumors of forbidden rituals and fearsome transformations echo through the shadows." The storyline presents a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a clandestine cult.
The questline focuses on "peculiar experiments and a terrifying adversary" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Places and Transformations
The trailer highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer ends with a striking sequence showing a character, likely the hostage, changing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Prizes and Additional Material
Players who accomplish the mission will obtain an exclusive katana together with multiple artifacts secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:
